External Affairs Council

General Secretary - Ashtha Priya

The External Affairs Council of IIT Bhilai acts as the institute’s strategic interface with the outside world, playing a crucial role in fostering relationships with industry leaders, startups, research organizations, and government bodies. The council is deeply involved in establishing and nurturing collaborations that go beyond routine interaction—focusing on long-term partnerships that benefit both the student community and the institution. One of its primary responsibilities is to identify, approach, and secure sponsorships and vendor support for the institute’s flagship events, such as national-level tech fests, cultural festivals, and symposiums. These collaborations not only bring in financial support but also elevate the scale, visibility, and impact of IIT Bhilai’s major initiatives.
In addition to external engagement, the council works in synergy with various student bodies, technical clubs, and cultural organizations, helping them in external communications, sponsor outreach, publicity management, and establishing professional credibility. It ensures that every event or initiative that originates on campus reaches the right audience outside of it—whether it’s through corporate channels, social media, or press networks. By bridging internal aspirations with external opportunities, the External Affairs Council strengthens IIT Bhilai’s brand presence, enhances student exposure to real-world ecosystems, and enables impactful, resource-backed experiences that resonate beyond the campus boundaries.
