We all, as a part of an elite league of institutes, aspire to work at the frontiers of human knowledge, innovate technology, initiate revolutions in science and propel national development to new heights. But often in such a competitive environment, work is stressed to the point of mania and this is when comes in the need of recreation. Rediscover your hobbies and explore new ones with Clubs at IIT Bhilai. Mind you there is absolutely no bound on anyone’s interest which also means that there is no bound on how many clubs you can be in – it is all up to you. Currently the following clubs are functional and conduct their respective activities at a regular basis:

Developers Student Club - by Google Developers

 Lead: Javed Habib

About: DSC is a university program kick started by Google Developers to train thousands of student developers globally and to work with their communities to solve real-life problems. DSC, IIT Bhilai was set-up primarily to ensure that we can bridge the divide between a student’s eagerness to learn and the technology evolving every day. The DSC program is a grass root channel through which the members of the community provide development skills for students towards employability. In addition to workshops, DSCs also provide an opportunity for students to apply their newly gained skills to develop solutions for local organizations and then provide visibility via showcases. DSC IIT Bhilai is one stop point for any software vertical at IIT Bhilai. The areas that we cover are Competitive Programming, Machine Learning, Cloud Development, Web Development and App Development. We have got a dedicated team of core members working for every area.

 Keypoints:

  • Students have the opportunity to not only learn development skills, but also apply it to live problems by developing solutions, and then showcasing their work within their communities.
  • Students get to develop their portfolios by showcasing the projects that have live applications rather than academic-only projects.
  • By developing solutions for local businesses/organizations, the college is positioning itself as a center of talented individuals that can provide offerings to the local community.
  • Direct Point of Communication with Enterprises that look for Tech Talents, as DSC Leads are Community Leaders empowered with the authority to issue Referrals for Strong Candidates.

BIB (Blockchain at IIT Bhilai)

 Co-ordinator: Anand Kumar

About: Blockchain technology is moving at a rapid pace. A lot of students of our institute are interested in learning blockchain technology, but due to lack of guidance, they end up giving up on learning blockchain and find some other interests. This society will prevent exactly this; we will be guiding students who are interested in learning blockchain, we will cover both, theoretical and practical aspects and make sure that they stand on their own feet.
